Let me tell you about the Teen Center (aka 242 Main). I loved that place. I played my very first game of Super Mario Brothers there and saw my first hard core show there too. It's true that the goal of any teen center is to give kids something to do and keep them out of trouble and while 242 made a good effort it didn't really succeed with me. I mean let's be honest, I would go to the local drug store between Super Mario games and shoplift candy, smoke cigarette's out back and drink in the parking lot before shows. But, I loved that place and it may be true that I would have gotten into even more trouble had it not been around.
Why am I waxing nostalgic? I found this pattern today and it made me a little misty.

Knitting?
Hey, isn't this kind of a knitting blog? What gives? I've been neglecting my knitting posts...sorry.
Remember the Solstice scarf I made for my little sister? Here are two progress shots of the many tentacled nightmare.
I also have four in and out shots of the mittens I made for Grayson.
Finally Is a pre-felt and post-felt picture of the Kristina bag I made for my step-mom's birthday. It was a super fast knit and I had a lot of fun. The magnetic closure showed on the outside so I crocheted a flower to cover it up.
I also have some socks on the needles in the Lorna's Laces I received via Yarn Aboard.
And I've been working on the Central Park Hoodie. The back is almost done and I'm working with Jo Sharp Silk Road. I love the yarn, it's so soft it almost feels like chenille and the tweedy goodness is brilliant.

Update
I've finished my Zeeby's Bag. I'm not too keen on it, it's beautiful but I need a bag with more structure. I think I'll give it to my little sister for Solstice this winter.
I'm about half way through the wavy scarf.
And I just have the toe to finish on my first sock, Jess is going to give me the short row refresher on Saturday at our SnB.
I'll try and get some pics up tonight.

Holey Moley
Here's that picture of Elah with her backpack. Too bad I've already been trying to talk her into letting me use it. Looks like I'll be making another one...damn.
On another note Elah's been asking me to make her a dress out of sparkly red yarn. Unfortunately I have no desire to make a dress and the girl grows so fast that I think it wouldn't fit into it by the time I got it done. So as a compromise I am making her the holey moley poncho from Knitty. Pictures to follow.

Finally!!
Whenever I say "finally" I get that song stuck in my head. Damn it!
So I am finally done with the Punk Rock Backpack from the first Stitch 'n Bitch. I told myself I'd never do another one but it's so cute and now I want one for myself. The knitting was fine, even the intarsia, but I have to saw I hate sewing; both machine and hand of which I had to do both. When Elah comes home tomorrow I'll post a pic of her wearing her new backpack.

Intarsia Update
OK, so I love my art history professor because he lets me knit in class. I'm done with the intarsia and about half done with the back piece. It's coming along and I think I will never do intarsia again...well, maybe.

Intarsia Hell
So I'm I new knitter, right? 3 months and counting. I told my 4 year old that I'd make her the punk rock backpack from the first SnB but of course she didn't want the bunny or monkey face on hers - she wanted a kitty.
Using the knitter's graph paper I made I designed a kitty face for her and figured 'how hard can it be?' Anyway, it's going alright but it's definitely more challenging than I thought it would be.
My advice to other new knitters thinking about intarsia? Start with a square in another square - 2 colors, easy.
