K and I have been very into wall decals lately.  We've been poking around the interwebs looking for cool designs like these and these.  Little did I know that there was something out there that would appeal to my most basic needs...

Beantown Love

First a knitting update. Drunken Bees have been frogged back to the ribbing; a small set back but I'm still feeling good about them. CPH only needs the sleeves and buttons sewn on! If I can get enough homework done then I'll try to finish it tonight.

Now on to Boston.
I drove down on Friday and enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of Mrs. & Mr. Hello Yarn (and Shambles). I had a great time with Adrian and Mark, ate some delicious food, did a little bit of knitting and just had a good old-fashioned visit. It was awesome.


The next morning, Saturday, Adrian treated me to some yummy coffee, I marveled at all the fiber-y goodness in her home and then it was off to meet Siòbhan at Darkwave. 5 1/2 hours later I was on my way back home with the outline of a bad ass knitting tattoo.

Siòbhan is awesome and I was totally blown away by the design she created with very little guidance from me. I am so excited to go back.

Deep Fried Book

My friend Drew is doing some interesting things with books.

Sculptor and conceptual artist John LaFalce (Buffalo, NY) and Drew Luan Matott set out to create an edition of altered books that were battered and deep fried, providing a commentary on America’s obsession with an unhealthy lifestyle, unstable foreign policy and blatant disregard for intellectualism. The deep fried books range in topic from American foreign policy, American dietary recommendations and science encyclopedia.

Things To Do Instead Of Homework #34,682

Can you believe that the Vermont page of Knitwiki didn't have any stores listed? Well, I couldn't let that stand...

In actual knitting news I've created a book weight so I can more easily knit while I do my homework. Pictures and a write up of the pattern to come soon.

Also, I've been itching to design. Those of you who know me know this is unusual, I'm more of a product knitter, but lately the process has been begging to be acknowledged. I've been exploring stitch patterns appropriate for bags and socks. I've also been formulating an installation idea combining Jesus, the apostles and knitting. More on that later when I have a more articulate statement about the work.
