It's really, really hard to pick just 10 blogs that make my day. I have about 80 blogs on my roll and I read more than half of them every day.

1. Applemint - Yum! I want to eat everything on this blog, even the pictures.
2. the scent of green bananas - Again, everything is looks so delicious. I love tsogb because it constantly challenges me to try new things.
3. Smitten Kitchen - What, another food blog? Uh huh, I can't get enought of them. Deb writes beautifully, cooks beautifully and take beautiful photos. Of all the food blogs, I've made them most recipes from this one.
4. Quixotic Pixels - The writing, the design, the photos, the knitting, the sweet humor and honesty...seriously, what's not to like?
5. Posie Gets Cozy - I just want to go live in Alicia's house and snuggle up with Clover and check out all the pretty things. Heck, maybe even learn to crochet.
6. futuregirl craft blog - Alice sews, crochets, makes stuffies, writes tutorials, etc. I don't think there's anything she can't do.
7. Hello Yarn - A blog that needs no introduction. Adrian is crazy talented and super nice. The knitting, the spinning, the dying, the gnomes! She is impossible to resist.
8. I May Be Knitting A Ranch House - Knitter, awesome glasses frame finder, etsy seller, Audrey lover, last.fm queen.
9. The Knitting Philistine - The Knitting Philistine rocks my socks, literally. Don't know what I mean? Go check out her blog and you will.
10. Flint Knits - By far the best halloween costume, ever! Plus she knits, rocks and has the cutest damn glasses.

Reminiscing

I just shared this story with a friend and now I'm sharing it with you.

Not too long I came across an old copy of Disintegration by The Cure and it made me remember being 14 in Albuquerque and my Mormon skate punk boyfriend who lived on the other side of town, 45 minutes away (I was by the mesa and he was by the mountains). He would write the lyrics to Cure songs and send them to me in the mail. I usually only got to see him at church dances (Mormons love to dance you know) and we would complain about the choice of music, C+C Music Factory, MC Hammer, NKOTB, and try to get the DJ to play "better" music like Ministry and DRI. But even when our music came on we didn't dance because it wasn't in keeping with our view of ourselves. Later we'd try to find a quiet spot (never alone, we were heavily chaperoned) where we could hold hands and talk music or school. I was a freshman and he was a junior but I was the first girl he ever kissed. I thought he was so sensitive. Last time I heard about the boy was probably 12 years ago. He'd moved to Salt Lake City and was all skinhead. It's funny how much finding that old CD made me remember.

My shoulder hurts so I haven't knit all week. :( It actually hurts so much I'm thinking about switching to continental knitting (if I'm patient enough to learn it).

So, since I don't have anything good (or anything at all) to show you why don't you check out this stuff.

Pam is taking the news of her missing dissertation with so much grace and humor it amazes me. I wouldn't be hanging with awesome Philly knitters; I would be on the floor, drunk and probably crying.

I Should Be Working

So I’ve become totally enamored of podcasting. I’d poked around in the podcast universe a bit but didn’t really put much effort into finding casts I was interested until Bill and company started doing the Friday Coffeeblog at Radio Bean.

You can find anything and everything in podcast format. I recently found an unofficial tour/walking guide for the MOMA done by Art Mobs. While it’s best to actually be at the museum while listening, it’s still fun to listen to when you’re in VT or wherever you hang your hat. It makes me miss NYC, maybe it’s time for a summer road trip.I also found a flash back in the form of a podcast. I remember my good ol’ nerd insomniac days, listening in to Art Bell talk about aliens, remote viewing and chupacabra. Well now the show is hosted by George Noory and is available via podcast so I can take my ass to bed at a decent hour.Note to self: try not to be so link happy, it’s annoying.
